Story.
Anthem was born out of the prayers and sacrifices of all those who came before us. What God started in a small prayer meeting has grown into something no one could have planned, a church built on faithfulness, generation after generation.
Several families gathered for a small prayer meeting with 18 in attendance. They met believing God would use them to impact their city and beyond with the good news of Jesus Christ, establishing what would become Liberty Church.
The young church grew quickly and purchased 40 acres of land south of 71st on Garnett. The entire congregation met in early 1985 and walked that land together, praying that God would do something eternal among them for generations to come.
Brad and Christina Jenkins stepped out in faith to plant The Gathering Church in downtown Tulsa, launching with over 200 people at the Grand Opening. In 2010, The Gathering relocated to 71st and Memorial at Thoreau Demonstration Academy.
God led Liberty Church and The Gathering Church to lay down their individual identities to create something new together, Anthem Church. Both congregations believed they would be better together in carrying out the mission of Jesus. Pastor Paul Taylor commissioned Pastor Brad Jenkins as Lead Pastor at the Inaugural Service on August 7, 2016.
The first Easter at Anthem Church drew over 700 people. That September, the Grand Opening Weekend brought over 1,000 in attendance, a powerful sign of what God was doing in Broken Arrow.
Anthem Church is a thriving non-denominational church in Broken Arrow, OK : gathering every Sunday at 9:15 and 11am. We're still doing what those 18 people prayed for: following Jesus and sharing His story with our city and the world.
