Public declaration of FAITH

Get
Baptized.

Baptism is a chance to publicly declare that you are now a follower of Christ, that your sins have been washed away, and that you have new life. If your faith is growing and you are ready to take this next step, we would love to celebrate with you.

What it means

Baptism is
a next step.

Baptism doesn't save you — Jesus does. But baptism is how you go public with your faith. It's a powerful moment where you tell everyone around you: I've decided to follow Jesus, and I'm not turning back.

At Anthem, we practice believer's baptism by full immersion. That means we baptize people who have personally trusted Jesus — not as infants, but as a conscious, joyful choice to identify with Him.

Going under the water pictures the death of your old life. Coming up pictures your new life in Christ. It's not just a tradition — it's a declaration.

Romans 6:4
"We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life."

Romans 6:4  ·  NIV

Common questions

We've got
answers.

Do I need to be a member at Anthem?

Nope. You don't have to be a member to get baptized. If you've trusted Jesus and you're ready to make that public, we want to celebrate with you — regardless of where you're at in your church journey.

What do I wear?

Wear clothes you're comfortable getting wet in. Dark colors are a good call. We provide towels, and there will be a place to change after. Wear something you don't mind being seen in during the service.

Can my family and friends watch?

Absolutely — please invite them. Baptism is meant to be public. Bring your people. The whole church community celebrates with you, and it's one of the best Sundays of the year.

I was baptized as a baby or in another church. Do I need to do it again?

That's a great question and one worth talking through. Infant baptism and believer's baptism are different practices. If you made a personal decision to follow Jesus after your infant baptism, we'd love to help you think through whether taking this step makes sense for you.

What happens the day of baptism?

Our team will meet with you before the service to walk you through everything. During the service, you'll share a brief word about your story, we'll pray with you, and then we'll baptize you. It's personal, meaningful, and the whole church celebrates with you.
